The immediate fact is that Texas Parkour is trying to become a non profit organization. In that attempt we will have to spend $775 for processing fees.
We want to become a non profit so that we may apply for grants and do great things for the community. I feel that a For Profit Parkour organization just holds to many problems. One great thing we are going to start doing is:
Loose change. Everyone has it. I know with the DEBIT world we have today these campaigns are getting hard. Still the same we feel everyone should try to contribute. This is a direct way for those of you who want to help to actually be able to do it. The leaders of each town will be collecting any loose change that you have in your car, wallet, couches etc that you give them that week. There will be a pick up each week and we will keep a total listed amounts and see which city can gain the most amount of $$$. Now, parkour has not competition in it but we are going to remain competitive to get the job done.
Things you can do:Ask parents for loose change Ask Friends for loose change Start a penny jar at your work Start a penny jar in your home Every time you say the word Can't or Impossible you owe to the jar. Check Couches Check Cars Check friends Houses and Cars |

Everyone check out the Change drive module on the front page. Report any change donations to an admin, and they will update it. This module will keep track of all recorded change donations.

This last month was a great month for Austin. We were able to have an official exhibition of Austin talent at the Bob Bullock Museum. They were opening an IMAX move called EXTREME. It showed some of the extreme conditions in which people play in surf, rock and wind! Texas Parkour was lucky enough to show and displace the art of Parkour at the gathering. We had a scaled workout and threw in some flips for the spectators along with verbal descriptions of all movements and activities. It was a great day.

Many organizations recently are having birthdays. In June Texas Parkour is 3 years old. We decided to celebrate by bringing out our new website. The new look is great but we really are excited about what Joomla, has been able to offer to many sites like ours. We will have the ability to concentrate on the community and bring many great benefits to the users. Starting off we have a great community profile that all can fill out and share with others. Web 2.0 - This was the idea behind the new website. With the advent of the new site you will need to create a new login profile. The user will truly be able to add to the website on an every day basis. You may now submit articles and reviews over information on the front page. We have incorporated great features such as the Parkour Mattress; click a box in your profile as having the ability to house Traceurs in your area. They will be able to see that under the Parkour Mattress feature. We have integrated city pages for the locals in Texas and they have a rather large amount of information directly related to the events and news in your city. With the upgrade of the complete integration of the site and message boards we will be leaving our old message boards behind. Do not worry many threads will be coming over and you may bring any thread back to life. More features are to come |
