The world’s leading practitioners of parkour will come from Europe to Columbus, Ohio over Memorial Day weekend to lead a three day seminar. The London based Parkour Generations and the Paris group Majestic Force, which includes some of the renowned Yamakasi — the founders of parkour — are the featured attractions of a collaborative event hosted by Parkour Horizons of Columbus.

“American Rendezvous” will mark the first time the Yamakasi founders have taught in the United States, and will also be the first time since 2008 that Parkour Generations has taught stateside.
The first day of training, Friday (May 28), will be held in Hocking Hills State Park, with Saturday and Sunday (May 29 and 30) taking place at Battelle Riverfront Park in downtown Columbus. Parkour Generations held training sessions at these venues during the 2008 Memorial Day Exposition with great success and look forward to revisiting the training locations.
Opportunities to be trained by Parkour Generations and the Yamakasi founders are few and far between outside of Europe, so be sure to take advantage of this invaluable opportunity!
Yamakasi founders & Parkour Generations come to USA, May 28-30 1 Year, 10 Months ago

Hey guys, in answer your question regarding what will be filmed: Yes, Julie Angel will be present to document the event. We also just received confirmation that all three head guys from the Yamakasi will be able to come. That is Yann Hnautra, Chau Belle and Laurent Piemontesi. We will also have several or more guys from Parkour Generations, so this should be a pretty amazing experience. For anyone who is worried about the cost, all proceeds from the entrance fees are going toward paying for their airfare and accommodations. Any leftover funding will be put toward a BBQ cookout for all the attendees. Overall, this is a great deal, because the only other way you could train with all of these people would be to fly to Europe, and of course that would be a LOT more expensive. Be sure to keep an eye on the event website for additional details. More info will be continually added as we get it.

There's virtually no chance of me going. I'm not even going to get my hopes up. And there's another once-in-a-lifetime thing that just got thrown out the window... :'(

Yeah it`s a long way!!! And it`s gonna be very hard to drive, 21-22 hours. We should find something, though. I think to take a bus is good idea. But we have to find out how much is it, etc.

Well, my chances of geting to go have skyrocketed from 100% no to 99.99% no. And take my word for it, that's quite a leap. I've just got alot of epic brown-nosing to do.
As far as getting there goes, if all of Heaven and earth are moved in my favor, and I do get to go, I would have no problem carpooling. The only problem with that is my whole family is like "I can't just let you cet into a car full of people I don't even know. And you don't know them either. You can't trust them! They could be killers or something!" And I'm like, "Uuuuummmmm....... Do you people not hear a word I ever say," then I remember the answer to that is no, "These people have done stuff together who knows how many times and none of them have died yet. And you would know them if you'd take me to a freakin' jam once in a while!" Then they, "You've got to be reasonable and logical." And I, "How illogical is a one hour drive, once a week!" And they, "I don't want to talk about it any more." because they were just proven wrong. In short, untill I can get the bloody hell away from here, stuff like this is not gonna happen for me. Anyone that does go, feel free to tke good pictures and/or videos so I can show my family everything that I'm missing out on. Maybe guilt triping them will help me out.

THERE WILL BE A RIDE SHARE FROM AUSTIN. It has not been planned yet and I have absolutely no official details. I possibly plan on leaving early around 3am on Friday and hope to make it there by midnight on Saturday. This way we have enough time to sleep and for miss haps. I plan on taking a car and I plan on bring at least 4 people with me. If you RSVP to the Austin Car, then It better be for sure because we have to split gas costs.
THESE ARE APPROXIMATE
Cheapest Flight tickets I am seeing are around $270 from Kayak.com 240's from San Antonio
Cheapest Bus Tickets I Am seeing are around $193-$400 1day 7ish hours
Cheapest Train $160 Austin to Cincinnati 28hrs
Car about 1250 miles there and 1250 back. Total being 2500 with a car getting 20mpg and gas being $3 per gallon it costs about $375. There is going to be driving around in town and as I remember we ran our bank a bit thin last time and everyone had to add an additional $20 for extra costs. $75 in Gas, but add 20 for extra gas burned and oil change for car. Or say $100. Then you got FOOD.
So, who wants to go on my COMPLETELY THEORETICAL PLAN??? Now before you guys hound me about emergency cash and all that BS...I am just stating this...so no flaming me for trying to get a trip going.
