The global parkour community has initiated a fantastic charity event to help Japan following the terrible recent earthquake and tsunami catastrophe that has ravaged the country’s Eastern coastline. The idea is similar to our One Giant Leap initiative the year before last against environmental pollution, and will be a day of jams and training sessions in participating cities around the world to raise awareness and donations for The Japanese Red Cross Society. The event is being centralised on Facebook and is called Worldwide Parkour Charity: Traceurs for JAPAN and more details can be found here:
We will be encouraging a special London Jam for the event on Sunday March 20th from 11am onwards, based at the Imax Stairs hotspot outside Waterloo Station – the same place as One Giant Leap. So come along, get involved and support this great initiative – it’s inspirational to see the community rallying together again for a very good cause, and indeed this approach to life is very much at the heart of parkour’s history and philosophy.
